About Our Candidates

Our party is very proud to announce the slate of candidates that we have nominated for Town Council and Board of Education.

For Council, we have Christopher Wazorko, Rosemary Morante, Benjamin Gediman, Quinn Christopher, and Dan Hurley.

Board of Education candidates are Brittany Bouchard, Melissa Sweeney, and Rob Michalik for the four-year terms and Anthony Wasley for the two-year term.

  • All five of our current Council members are running for re-election. They have a record of strong leadership and major accomplishments. One example was their decisive action to send the Middle School renovation to a referendum after a long delay under the former majority. Other examples include road and sidewalk improvements, mechanical system replacements, the addition of police officers, and the proposal of carefully constructed budgets that have been approved by residents in the annual town-wide vote. The consistent bottom line for our Council slate is to make the decisions that are truly in the best interest of Plainville.

As a group, our four candidates for the Board of Education bring a combined wealth of both knowledge and experience in education, human services, and government policy. All of their backgrounds and perspectives will be great assets to the Board. If elected, most will be first-time Board members and will bring new approaches and ideas to the office. However, all of our Board candidates share the common goals of ensuring success for all students, opening communications with all stakeholders, and strengthening partnerships with families and community members.

In addition to candidates for Town Council and Board of Education, we have Joyce Goldberg running for a second term on the Library Board of Trustees. With her library background, Joyce has been a great addition to the Library Board. We also have another four people on the slate running for Constable. They are Shelley Johnson, Kathleen Michalik, William Garrity, and Salam Abod.
